The City of Cambridge is planning to create a new bike park within Riverside Park, the City’s largest community park that spans some 102 hectares. It’s a $150,000 initiative that also includes funding support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport through its “Healthy Community Fund”.

The ministry grant helped to cover the design costs for the recreational project. Locally based IBI Group which specializes in land-use planning and urban design was selected to execute the design concepts created by City staff. The proposed area of the park for the new activity was previously used for a petting zoo that was closed in 2007.
